Anyone who knows me knows I love my Gossip
Girl, so I was psyched when The Baby Einstein Company invited Lucky Kids to
a playdate hosted by Kelly Rutherford, who plays Lily van der Woodsen, Serena's
alternately conniving and compassionate mother.
In real life, Rutherford is mom to
Hermes, 4, and Helena, who turns two in October (pictured). After Kelly
professed how Baby
Einstein videos "just
really saved me" (and as a mom I know just what she means, though Olivia is my
remedy of choice when I need my kids to stop fussing/fighting), I got the star,
who looked totally pulled together in skinny jeans, a fitted blazer and four
inch pumps, to spill some of her stylish mom tips. "Mix and match; you can
easily dress an outfit up with one good accessory, like a Hermes scarf," she
advises. Or, at a bare minimum (which face it, is sometimes all you can manage),
Kelly says, "just wear things that are easy to wash and hide stains." I also
found out that she has just as much fun, if not more so, dressing her son as her
daughter. "I can finally get the man in my life to dress exactly how I want, "
