The Happy State of Mind

When a baby looks up and smiles, we get a warm melting feeling that instantly surges up from the heart to our mouth, which we open to provide a returning smile and spew out a bunch of loving nonsense. I'm sure the brain is involved in our reaction but that's not where we feel it. That smile means baby is happy. The alertness reflected in baby's eyes lets you know that baby wants communication. And we are only too happy to reciprocate.
